The customFields API enables the retrieval and maintenance of custom fields, sucomt fields can be added to user profiles, group profiles or Response Metadata. All methods require the ‘Design’ permission.
Note the customFields API is responsible only the maintenance of the custom fields themselves not their values. The actual values that pertain to users groups are maintained by their own APIs.
